Zusammenfassung

Ausgangspunkt von Martha Nussbaums Beschäftigung mit Emotionen ist die Frage, welche Bedeutung Emotionen für (rationales) moralisches Handeln haben. In den meisten Abhandlungen über Ethik tauchen sie nur als Randbedingungen auf: Emotionen wie Wut, Hass oder Eifersucht können moralisches Handeln erschweren, Emotionen wie Mitgefühl, Liebe und Dankbarkeit können es erleichtern.
