Zusammenfassung
Erving Goffman ist mittlerweile zweifellos ein soziologischer ›Klassiker der zweiten Generation‹. Berühmt geworden durch seine feinfühligen Studien zur zwischenmenschlichen Interaktion, waren auch Emotionen immer wieder Thema seiner zahlreichen Bücher und Aufsätze. Freilich muss man bemerken, dass Goffman den Emotionen kein eigenes Werk gewidmet hat. Vielmehr ziehen sich die Emotionen durch sein Werk und spielen an den unterschiedlichsten Stellen eine Rolle.
