Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag präsentiert empirische Forschungsergebnisse über die Erwartungen von 101 Immigrantenfamilien in Südaustralien an die Erziehung ihrer Kinder in den frühen Kindheitsjahren. Diese Familien kommen aus Vietnam, Kambodscha, Indonesien, der Volksrepublik China und den Philippinen. 100 pädagogische Fachkräfte aus Kindertagessstätten wurden ebenfalls über ihre Bildungserwartungen befragt. Ein Vergleich gibt Aufschluss über Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede zwischen Fachpersonal und Eltern. Abschließend werden Implikationen für die frühpädagogische Praxis und Curricula abgeleitet.
