Zusammenfassung

Hartmut Esser (in diesem Band) wirft zwei Fragen auf, deren Beantwortung von der Stadtsoziologie erwartet werden sollte. Es sind dies die Frage nach der Entstehung städtischer Strukturen als (ungeplantem) Resultat individueller Handlungen und die Frage nach der Auswirkung städtischer Strukturen auf individuelle Akteure (vgl. auch Hollingshead 1961, S. 109). In diesem Beitrag werde ich auf die zweite Frage eingehen.
