Abstract
Intuitive Surgical, Inc., is a global leader in robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery (MIS). Since the company’s formation in 1995, four generations of da Vinci ® Surgical Systems have entered the market. More than 4000 systems are installed throughout the world with over four million procedures performed by surgeons on a da Vinci® System since the company’s inception (DiMaio et al Chapter 9: The da Vinci surgical system.
