Abstract

Substitute \(x=1\) and get \(f(2)=1\). Because \(f(1)=2\) and \(f(2)=1,\) by the intermediate value theorem for each \(y\in [1,2]\) there exists \(z\in [1,2]\) such that \(f(z)=y.\)
