Zusammenfassung

Die Kindersportmedizin als relativ junger Zweig der Sportmedizin hat als Hauptaufgabe, Kinder und Jugendliche bei allgemeiner körperlicher Aktivität bis hin zum Leistungssport zu unterstützen. Einerseits sollen Bezugspersonen motiviert werden, ihren Kindern körperliche Aktivität als gesundheitsfördernde Lebensweise zu ermöglichen, andererseits soll und muss das sporttreibende Kind begleitet werden, um nicht durch vorhandene Grundkrankheiten oder aber auch durch übereifrige Erwachsene Schaden zu erleiden (somatisch wie psychisch).
