Abstract
The theory of Wiener-Hopf operators with AP and SAP symbols on (R + ) is more complicated than its Toeplitz counterpart. We have to bound ourselves to symbols that are multipliers which leads to the introduction of the classes AP P and SAP P .The main result of this chapter is a Fredholm criterion and an index formula for Wiener-Hopf operators with symbols in [SAPP] N×N on the space (R + ) under the assumption that the almost periodic representatives are known to have AP P factorizations. This assumption can be removed in the scalar case and in the case where the almost periodic representatives of the symbol at±∞have absolutely convergent Bohr-Fourier series
