Abstract
Arthroscopic ankle arthrodesis has gained popularity as a surgical technique for ankle arthrodesis that has been associated with improved pain control, less morbidity, and likely faster recovery. Two to three arthroscopic incisions are made to access the joint where the ankle joint is then arthroscopically debrided. Then two to three guide pins are placed through the tibiotalar joint where cannulated screws are then used to fixate the joint under the visualization with fluoroscopy and arthroscopy. Indications, contraindications, and complications are similar to open ankle arthrodesis.
