Abstract

Fractures of the radial head and olecranon are often dislocated and in part combined with other fractures of the elbow showing with a fat pad sign. While radial head and neck fractures show a good remodeling in small children, they need to be reduced and indirectly fixed in older children. Displaced intraarticular and extraarticular fractures of the olecranon need reduction and tension bend wiring, which however needs to be taken out early in order not to impair the growing of the bone.
