Abstract

Telecommunications become more important in everyday lives of modern society. Transforming customer needs from just being connected to being connected anywhere and anytime, creates a lot of pressure to telecommunications operators but also enables new digital form of fraud. The Trends in global telecommunication fraud and its impact on business tend to be an underlying conceptual summary of different fraud types and methods to support industry with better understanding of patterns behind fraudulent activities. In order to successfully fight the fraud, understanding is the key aspect which needs to be followed by industry-wide common approach of telecom operators in relation to fraud. Modernization and new form of technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence are raising in popularity and become a promising tool in this fight.
