Abstract
Intraoperative complications occur, even to the most careful of surgeons. Potential complications can be prevented by having a thorough understanding of anatomy and technical variations that help avoid these adverse events. In addition, maintaining a high level of vigilance allows for early identification of complications in efforts to prevent further sequela. This chapter will provide tips on how to reduce the incidence and manage some of the more common intraoperative complications related to laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
