Abstract

The diversity of devices, equipment, sensor networks connected to the Internet, and the paradigm of Industry 4.0; have increased the challenge for the development of architectures, services and intelligent applications capable of processing the data generated constantly. Edge Computing (EC) has emerged as a decentralized alternative and collaborative work for Internet of Things scenarios. However, the security and protection of data has made organizations doubt the effectiveness of EC as well as the model of centralized computing based on the Cloud. This article proposes the integration of Blockchain and Edge Computing technology to obtain a distributed, flexible, scalable and secure data flow through a new reference architecture.
