Icon Design for a Tourism Mobile App

Abstract

This article shows the icon design process for the FloripaTour App - a tourism mobile app created to help tourists visiting Florianópolis Island. Five icons were developed to represent these categories of tourist attractions: natural landscapes, architectural and urbanistic elements, singular cultural elements, gastronomy and festive symbols. The icon design process was performed according to these steps: research, analysis, image refinement process, standardization through the same graphic style and evaluate the comprehensibility of icons.
