Abstract

The larynx is the site of a variety of inflammatory, congenital, and neoplastic disorders. There is significant overlap in the pathology of several inflammatory disorders in the larynx that may lead to biopsy; clinical presentations and examination findings that help to distinguish between entities are discussed. While squamous cell carcinoma by far is the most common malignancy of the larynx, there are several subtypes that are important to recognize. The grading of neuroendocrine neoplasms is discussed, and other rare entities are mentioned.
