Abstract
Discussion of the use of herbicides in Indochina would be incomplete without reference to a defoliation mission carried out over Cambodia in the Spring of 1969.1–4 The timing of the incident is significant because at the time the Fishook area of Cambodia was being sprayed it is also alleged to have been bombed. Attacks on Cambodia, a neutral state, were violations of international law and hence illegal. The illegal bombing of the country by B-52 bombers of the U.S. Air Force is said to have occurred in April 1969.5,6
