Abstract

Eosinophilic infiltrates in the lung that are discussed in this chapter include asthma, eosinophilic pneumonia, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, mucoid impaction, and bronchocentric granulomatosis. Hypereosinophilic syndrome is also mentioned. These are often manifestations of immunologically mediated reactions confined to the lungs. These entities may frequently overlap with each other because of their often-shared, common eosinophilic cell response and symptoms of asthma, and, in some cases, their common etiologies.
