Energy Transfer between Manganese and Erbium Ions in MnF2

Abstract

We have studied the fluorescence characteristics of the system MnF2:Er and found evidence of a Mn2+→Er3+ energy transfer process. The temperature dependence of this process reveals itself through the spectral behavior of the Er system.
