Mechanisms in the Production of the Delayed Fluorescence Observed in Aromatic Amines Trapped in Rigid Glasses

Luminescence of Crystals, Molecules, and Solutions

Abstract

The delayed fluorescence of several aromatics has been studied in a series of rigid organic glasses at 77 K. Buildup and decay kinetics were investigated. All systems showed photoionization of the solute; the matrix quenches recombination delayed fluorescence and triplet-triplet annihilative delayed fluorescence is observed.
