Abstract

For a long time similarities in the characteristics of various objects have been the basis of the scientific approach to the study of a great variety of phenomena in nature. Essentially, the concept of a model which has characteristics similar to the studied phenomena has been introduced in either an explicit or an implicit form in all the various branches of science. However, in no field has the concept of ehavior been more explicit and thorough than in cybernetics, where it figures in the most general form. This is a basic concept which is decisive from the point of view of the technique of studying the ehavior of cybernetic systems.
