Abstract
Within the context of the present symposium the following contribution is meant to indicate the prospects of oilseed production in view of the recent developments in procedures and trends of genetic plant improvement. Because of the wide scope, the today’s activities and discussions in plant breeding can be compiled in 10 theses only, which will give sufficient grounds for the subsequent discussion.
