The Prostaglandins

Abstract

The last decade has witnessed a very rapid evolution of the concepts concerning the identity of putative inflammatory mediators. Precise mechanisms of action of AIDs have been hypothesized supporting the humoral theory of inflammation. No attempt will be made here to review fully the historical background of these developments or to collect the impressive evidence showing that AIDs interfere with synthesis of prostaglandins, the subject of other chapters of this book.
