Abstract

Now that a substantial number of anticancer drugs are available, a high priority must be assigned to finding approaches which will improve their use. EVERY anticancer drug has a narrow therapeutic index, i.e., the dose which must be given for efficacy is a dose which is close to the maximum tolerated dose due to toxicity.
