The Alteration of Guanidino Compounds in the Liver, Kidney and Blood following Halothane Inhalation in Rats

  • Chapter
Guanidines 2

Abstract

Analysis of serum guanidino compounds in patients with acute renal or hepatic insufficiency has revealed certain variations among several guanidino compounds relevant to the condition of the liver or kidney1–2. As for guanidinoacetic acid (GAA), while patients with acute renal insufficiency, had a low serum level, those with acute hepatic insufficiency showed a remarkably increased serum level3–4.
