Abstract
The excitement that prevails today in the field of leukocyte adhesion research has its origin in the expansion of knowledge in the fields of immunology and molecular biology. Those of us who are products of this age of discovery often find it difficult to remain dispassionate and constrain our enthusiasm for the exciting developments of the past few years.
