View Synthesis Using Stereo Vision

Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Computer Science ((LNCS,volume 1583))

Abstract

This chapter begins the second major part of this volume: the discussion of actual stereo algorithms. So far we have discussed how new views can be synthesized and what requirements view synthesis imposes on stereo algorithms. Given this background, we are now ready to examine several different stereo methods, and to evaluate their performance in the context of view synthesis.
