Abstract
Control Engineering is the only subject of the main study program that is mandatory for all students of mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen. This has the consequence of between 600 and 1000 examinations annually and the duty of the teaching staff to work as efficiently as possible in transmitting the essentials of this subject. This efficiency has been obtained by a carefully balanced combination of traditional and modern methods of instruction.
