About the editors

Dr Prateek Sharma graduated from Baroda Medical College in India and completed his Gastroenterology and Advanced Gastroenterology fellowship from University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. He is a Professor of Medicine and Director of Fellowship Training at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri.

He has been at the forefront in improving diagnosis and management of GI diseases and cancer, specifically in advanced imaging and endoscopic treatments. He is a world-renowned physician, teacher, and educator. 

Dr. Sharma has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal and Newsweek. He has over 400 publications, including original articles and book chapters, and is regularly invited to present at major national and international meetings. In addition, he has co-edited several important books. Dr. Sharma has and continues to publish in several high-profile national and international journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine,  Annals of Internal Medicine,  Gastrointestinal Endoscopy,  Gastroenterology, and American Journal of Gastroenterology. Dr. Sharma is currently a Governing Board Member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and President of the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus and has held numerous positions at World Gastroenterology Organization(WGO), American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and American College of Gastroenterology (ACG).


Dr Nageshwar Reddy Duvvur graduated from Kurnool Medical College and completed his gastroenterology fellowship from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India. He is the currently the Chairman of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad, India and was the Professor of Gastroenterology at Guntur Medical College, Guntur. He has around 600 peered review published papers and gievn numerous named orations. He ispast president of World Endoscopy Organization. He has been a visiting faculty for over 200 international endoscopy workshops and forum member of Asian Endoscopy Masters Forum. He was awarded the highest civilian award “Padma Bhushan” from the government of India. He won many awards which include Dhanwantri Award in 2004, Master Endoscopist Award from American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy(ASGE) in 2009, International Service Award American Society of Gastroenterology (DDW Crystal Awards) in 2011. Master of World Gastroenterology Organization Award from World Gastroenterology Organization in 2014. ASGE President’s Award – American Society of Gastroenterology (DDW Crystal Awards) in 2020. Fellow of American Gastroenterological Association (FAGA) Award in 2020. Fellow of Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) Award in 2020. Master of ASGE from American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (MASGE) Award in 2020.
