Abstract

By irradiating a nitrogen ion beam onto an organic-inorganic hybrid coating film, we studied the physical characteristics of the film, such as its hardness, transparency and conductivity. The organic-inorganic hybrid coating film was prepared and irradiated using a nitrogen ion beam. The effect of nitrogen ion-beam irradiation on the properties of the organic-inorganic hybrid coating film was explored by using UV-Vis spectroscopy. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), and nanoindentation measurements and so on. Using the pencil hardness and nanoindentation measurements, we analyzed the mechanical surface properties and showed the feasibility of developing a robust substrate for organic flexible displays.
