Abstract
Serial presentation of nonsense strings with immediate written recall was studied in a 3 by 2 factorial design: structure (none, morphology, morphology and syntax) and rate of presentation (1 and 3 sec/item). Only the main factors were significant; recall was facilitated by structure and by the slower presentation rate.
