Determination of Tool Wear in Finishing

  • Published:
Russian Engineering Research Aims and scope

Abstract

The resultant microcutting trajectory in surface machining on plane-finishing equipment is determined by computer simulation, taking account of the technological, kinematic, and geometric parameters of the machined surfaces and the lap. On that basis, the lap–workpiece contact spot is determined, and the wear of the lap and workpieces is calculated.
