Abstract
A device is proposed for determining the pressure in a joint based on an interference fit. Its sensitive element consists of balls located between the contacting surfaces. Two types of contact interaction between the balls and the components of the joint are considered: elastoplastic deformation of the balls; and elastoplastic deformation of the parts. The pressure in shaft–bush contact is determined from the deformation.
