Abstract
Spindles of multiply adaptive hydrostatic bearings are described and analyzed. Such bearings, fitted with bushes, ensure active pumping of the working fluid and angular self-alignment relative to the spindle. This design increases the possible load and rules out edge contact in the front bearing due to flexure and skewing of the spindle in cantilever loading.
