Stress state of wear-resistant tool coatings

  • Published:
Russian Engineering Research Aims and scope

Abstract

The stress state of wear-resistant coatings is investigated. It is determined by the total stress and depends on the coating composition and the basic tool material. It will also depend on the structure of multilayer coatings. The influence of the stress state on the tool’s wear rate is demonstrated.
