Abstract

The stress and strain, strain rate and loading rate, internal-friction coefficients (viscosity), and deformation time of the cut layer are predicted for structural carbon steels and alloy steels characterized by self-organization of the viscoplastic flow on turning. Physical models of the metal’s viscoplastic-flow parameters in the chip-formation zone are employed.
