Abstract

A mathematical model is used to investigate automobile suspensions with both hydraulic and inertial-frictional shock absorbers. The optimal parameters of this combined damping system are determined for the suspension of the GAZ-66 vehicle. A prototype inertial-frictional shock absorber is described, and the results of road tests on the Gazel ambulance are presented.
