Abstract

Reducing the time for batch removal from the coal-charging machine increases the height of the available furnace space and permits enlargement of the one-time charge in coke furnaces. With natural air supply to the arch region and wetting of the bunker surface with solar oil, the time for batch removal is reduced by 19 and 20.9%, respectively and the height of the available space is increased. The effect is greatest in charging with forced air supply.
