Abstract
The drying of coking batch by means of the secondary fuels in coke production is considered. OAO VUKhIN equipment for drying coal by means of flue gases from coke batteries has been installed at Sanmin Iron and Steel Works (China); its characteristics are described. Its use has reduced the moisture content of the batch by 3% (from 14 to 11%), with wet-coal charging at 200–250 t/h.
