Abstract
Phase transformations during the annealing of powders produced by the electrodispersion of WC-Co alloys are considered. All the powders contained various amounts of high-temperature β-WC phase. Eutectoid decomposition β-WC → α-WC + W2C is found to result first in the formation of needle α-WC crystals and then in their destruction due to gliding.
