Abstract

Based on the given analysis of the phonon spectrum of single-walled carbon nanotubes, it was suggested that tubes doped with foreign atoms be used as quantum memory devices. The longer decoherence time in such devices is accounted for by the suppression of phonon transition due to a gap observed in the phonon spectrum of carbon nanotubes.
