Abstract
The effect of the atmosphere in the sputtering chamber and the substrate state on the magneto-optical properties of (Co)x(LiNbO3)100 − x nanocomposites has been investigated. It is shown that the presence of oxygen significantly affects both the shape of the spectrum and the equatorial Kerr effect. It is found that oxidative processes can be partially conditioned by decomposition of the LiNbO3 matrix at high temperatures.
