Abstract
Lubrication modes and a method of choosing a lubrication material at the design stage of the combined reduction-mandreling process are considered. The criteria for selecting the lubrication material for the friction pair cylindrical workpiece–calibration sections of the matrix and the mandrel are analyzed. An algorithm for determining lubrication mode and recommendations for modifying it to reduce the specific straining force are provided.
