Steel in Translation Aims and scope

Abstract

The maximal wear of the landward edge is 16 mm. There is no wear of the blade area. The raylike wear is eliminated by sealing with electrodes that ensure a surfaced material hardness of about 50 HRC by surfacing reinforcement. Surfacing should be carried out on the back side with an electrode that provides an abrasive-resistant layer. Knives as delivered are hardened by the surfacing reinforcement of a potential wear area. It is recommended to eliminate through wiping with the help of adhesive polymer dispersed-filled composites.
