Abstract
Results of improving the technical and economic performance of blast furnaces of “Ural Steel” JSC with a useful volume of 1232 and 1648 m3, reconstructed according to the project of Danieli Corus (Netherlands), are presented. After the furnace reconstruction, a modified profile was obtained, which makes it possible to operate both on a standard charge and on a charge with a pellet content of up to 95%. This solution makes it possible to work with different proportions of sinter and pellets depending on the availability of raw materials and economic feasibility.
