Abstract
Technology and equipment based on local chromium plating have been developed for local repairing surfaces with defects on long chromium-plated mandrels of pipe rolling mills. The local refurbishing of chromium layers prevents the further defect development and, as a result, makes it possible to prolong tool service life. The applicability of the proposed technology and the qualitative characteristics of local chromium coatings have been confirmed in the course of laboratory-scale and industrial testing.
