Effect of Heat Treatment Parameters on Microstructure and Properties of High-Strength Corrosion-Resistant Steels with Super-Equilibrium Nitrogen Content

  • Published:
Steel in Translation Aims and scope

Abstract

The effect of quenching and tempering temperatures on microstructure and mechanical properties of high-strength corrosion-resistant open-hearth steel with an increased (superequilibrium) nitrogen content has been studied. Heating rates up to the hardening temperature have been tested. The impact of cooling medium after heating for quenching on the hardness and microstructure of the steel under study is shown.
