Decrease in Consumption of Ferrous Alloys for Alloying of Pipe Steel With Controlled Nitrogen Content at Taganrog Iron & Steel Factory (AO TAGMET)

  • Published:
Steel in Translation Aims and scope

Abstract

This article discusses the measures devoted to decrease in specific consumption of ferrous alloys during production of pipe steels using digital technologies. The algorithm and the mathematical model of steel alloying in ladle–furnace have been developed. Proprietary software has been developed to assist steel maker in calculation and forecasting the amount of ferrous alloys to be consumed. The preliminary economic effect of a decrease in consumption of ferrous alloys, additional materials and alloying elements at the project start has been estimated as more than 20 million rubles.
