Abstract
The metal removal from steel blanks in finishing is simulated. In particular, on the basis of the Lotka-Volterra model, the relation between the roughness and the formation of wear particles is considered, with satisfactory results. The use of Solid Works Simulation software provides the basis for detailed description of the blank-lap interaction.
