Manufacture of plane axisymmetric blanks by end rolling from round bar or thick-walled pipe

  • Published:
Steel in Translation Aims and scope

Abstract

A production technology for flat axisymmetric blanks has been developed. The blanks are produced from round bar or thick-walled pipe by end rolling. In rolling at different temperatures and speeds, with different degrees of reduction, the properties of the metal mainly depend on the deformation temperature. The best mechanical properties are obtained at 950°C. On the basis of this technology, deformation conditions are recommended for the production of axisymmetric blanks that meet the relevant GOST requirements.
