Temperature regulation of rollers in broad-strip hot-rolling mills

Abstract

The main approaches to the automatic regulation of roller cooling are described by means of adaptable mathematical models, and possible subsystems are identified. The basic features of the mathematical models are outlined, along with the system hardware and software for continuous monitoring of the roller’s thermal state, automatic regulation of roller cooling, and stabilization of the working-roller temperature in rolling strip of various types. The system is based on modern information technology for the finishing group in the 2000 broad-strip hot-rolling mill at OAO MMK.
